Programme Duration

Based on learner’s ability, competence and experience, an average learner may need 9 months to 12 months to compete a full programme.

Certificate Awarding Body

It currently offers qualifications at National Proficiency I & II on the National Technical and Vocational Qualification Frame work (NTVETQF) and all the Certificates are awarded by Technical Examination Unit under Ghana Education Service.

Aquaculture program

The Daa Fisheries Training Centre also runs training for interested persons especially the youth in acquiring aquaculture knowledge, skill in post-harvest handling and marketing of farmed fish.

The DFTC has a carrying capacity of 35 learners at time.

Aquaculture training will be organized for 3 days covering the whole value chain of catfish farming. The programme will be non-residential, however, any participants who desires onsite accommodation during the training, will be linked to a hostel facility for a fee to be paid by the participant. Breakfast and lunch will be provided during the entire 3-day program. Training will cover Pond Construction, Catfish Rearing Practices, Value Addition and Starting Catfish as a profitable business.

Custom or tailored Training

The Daa Fisheries Training Centre (DFTC), also runs trainings for interested persons based on the learners' request and requirements.

The Centre has a very qualified and experienced facilitators that have been fully accredited by COTVET to deliver the various units of the programs.

Mode of Delivery

All the programmes at the Centre are delivered on:

  • Full time (Regular).
  • Part-time (Weekend, Evening)
  • At the convenience of the Learner (Trainee)

Other Programmes

The Centre also offers Clients (Trainees) specific tailored training programs along the Agriculture Value Chain based on request.
